The Cursed Land joins the Bittensor ecosystem through a strategic partnership with Level 114

Popu Games Studio and Level 114 announce a strategic partnership under which Level 114 becomes the official publisher of the MMORPG The Cursed Land (TCL). As part of the collaboration, TCL will operate as a miner on the Level 114 subnet within the Bittensor ecosystem, contributing high-performance, gaming-oriented infrastructure that is transparently evaluated on-chain.

Level 114 is the first gaming-focused subnet on Bittensor, a decentralized network where “useful work” such as high-performance servers and live game infrastructure is measured by validators and rewarded transparently. By aligning incentives across infrastructure providers, developers, and communities, the model establishes a durable foundation for live games with long-term scalability and potential cross-chain expansion. With this partnership, Level 114 also formalizes its expansion beyond Minecraft servers and steps into an active publisher role for both Web2 and Web3 titles.

The Cursed Land is a cross-platform MMORPG in which Windows, iOS, and Android players share the same world. Players can team up or clash in PvE and PvP, upgrade their gear, and choose how they want to engage with technology: either through an optional Web3 layer—including equipable NFTs, a player-driven economy, and crypto trading of in-game goods—or as a full Web2 experience without any blockchain features. To date, TCL has surpassed 100,000 combined downloads on Google Play and the App Store, and more than 3,500 players have already been onboarded into the MultiversX ecosystem, demonstrating that Web3 elements can be integrated seamlessly without sacrificing accessibility.

Within the partnership, Level 114 will help complete, publish, and scale TCL, focusing on content cadence, stability, and live operations. In parallel, TCL will run as a miner on the Level 114 subnet, contributing gaming-focused infrastructure whose performance is evaluated in an open framework by Bittensor validators. This tight feedback loop is designed to translate directly into stability for players and predictable operations for the team.

The collaboration also introduces a notable network milestone for Bittensor: Level 114 is launching the first-ever sub-subnet, splitting emissions into two distinct workload tracks. This architectural step enables finer specialization and better scalability across different classes of tasks inside the ecosystem, while preserving transparent reward mechanisms.

For players, the partnership is intended to deliver tangible, day-to-day benefits. Infrastructure measured and rewarded on-chain prioritizes stability and performance; aligned incentives accelerate content delivery and live ops; and the design preserves freedom of choice, allowing anyone to enjoy The Cursed Land either with Web3 features—NFT equipment, a crypto-denominated, player-driven economy—or entirely as a traditional Web2 game.

Economically, a portion of TCL’s revenue will be shared with Level 114, establishing the subnet’s first income stream. Those proceeds are earmarked for Alpha token buybacks from the market, reinforcing long-term sustainability and aligning economic outcomes across stakeholders in the ecosystem.
