Rockstar Games has officially announced that the release of Grand Theft Auto VIhas been postponed once again, according to Game.News. Initially scheduled for May 26, 2026, the long-awaited title is now set to launch on November 19, 2026.

The delay was confirmed shortly after Take-Two Interactive reportedly dismissed between 30 to 40 employees in the UK and Canada for allegedly distributing confidential information in a public forum. The announcement came through Rockstar Games’ official social media channels, stating that the extension aims to “finish the game with the level of polish you have come to expect and deserve.”

While the statement did not provide specific details behind the delay, industry analysts and fans alike have noted that Grand Theft Auto VI remains one of the most anticipated video games of the decade. The decision has sparked discussions across the gaming community regarding development timelines and corporate policies at major studios.

According to Game.News, Rockstar Games is also facing increasing pressure from internal and former employees. Following the recent layoffs, former staff members in the UK have begun protesting outside company offices, denying any involvement in leaks and claiming they were terminated without sufficient evidence or warning.

Despite the controversy, Rockstar emphasized its commitment to delivering an experience worthy of the Grand Theft Auto legacy. The studio’s official statement reassured fans that the additional time would ensure the final product meets the “highest standards of quality and immersion.”

Grand Theft Auto VI was initially expected to release in 2025 before being delayed to 2026. The new release date of November 19, 2026, marks yet another shift in the timeline for what is considered one of the biggest entertainment launches in history.
