Peugeot 308 Recalled: Seatbelt Issue Poses Safety Risk

0

Peugeot is recalling the previous generation 308 SW model due to an issue with the second-row seatbelts, which may not meet the required load-bearing capacity. According to car.news, this recall affects a total of 199 vehicles produced between 2015 and 2018 and sold in the Australian market.

In the announcement made by Peugeot’s Australian distributor, Inchcape European Automotive, it was stated: “The upper anchorage points of the seatbelts in the second-row left and right seat positions may not meet the required load capacity. As a result, the seatbelt may not function as intended.”

If the seatbelt does not work properly, passengers may not receive the full protection of the seatbelt system, increasing the risk of serious injury or death. Therefore, owners of affected vehicles are urged to contact an authorized Peugeot dealer to schedule a free repair.

A detailed Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) list and the original recall notice have also been made available. Peugeot’s Customer Relations Team can be reached at 1800 307 607 for further inquiries.

According to car.news, such recalls reflect automakers’ commitment to prioritizing customer safety and proactively addressing potential risks. Customers can also explore updated showroom listings for the latest Peugeot 308 models.
