Hyundai i20 N and i30 N Prices Rise – Driven by New Emissions Rules and Warranty

0

According to Car.news, Hyundai has raised prices across the Australian market as of September 1, with the i20 N and i30 N models hit hardest. At the same time, the company has introduced a longer seven-year warranty across much of its range.

Price Increases and Reasons

Hyundai’s performance models – the i20 N and i30 N hatchback – are now AUD 2000 more expensive, while the i30 Sedan N has risen by AUD 1000. A Hyundai spokesperson said the hikes come down to a mix of warranty changes, the NVES (New Vehicle Efficiency Standard), and European factory sourcing.

The Ioniq 5 N electric SUV is the only N model to avoid a price increase. Elsewhere in the lineup, almost all models are up by AUD 250, except for EVs and the Palisade SUV, which is about to be replaced.

New Warranty Terms

Hyundai now offers customers an extra two years of warranty – totaling seven years – provided the vehicle is serviced through the dealer network and not used for commercial purposes. Otherwise, the standard five-year, unlimited-kilometre warranty remains.

The warranty also covers corrosion, paint, and infotainment systems. High-voltage batteries retain their existing eight-year/160,000km coverage.

Production and Supply

  • i20 N is sourced from Turkey,

  • i30 Hatch N from Czechia.

These models are no longer sold in Europe and are built only for a handful of markets, including Australia.
Meanwhile, the i30 Sedan N and Ioniq 5 N come from Hyundai’s homeland, South Korea.
