SEGA Celebrates Total War’s 25th Anniversary With Major Free Content Drop

0

SEGA has announced a major surprise as part of the 25-year celebration of the Total War franchise and ahead of Warhammer’s 10th anniversary in 2026. According to game.news, starting December 4, all players who own Total War: WARHAMMER I & II will gain free access to Immortal Empires. The Lost God prologue campaign will also become free for the same group of players.

Additionally, owning either Warhammer I or Warhammer II will automatically add Total War: WARHAMMER III to the player’s library at no extra cost — a move that many fans consider one of SEGA’s most generous updates in recent years.

Immortal Empires – The Biggest Total War Sandbox Ever

Immortal Empires is not a standalone title and requires ownership of at least one Warhammer game to access. Both Warhammer I and II players now have full access to Immortal Empires as well as The Lost God campaign.

Players who do not yet own the full Warhammer III experience can still purchase any related DLC and use it within Immortal Empires.

What’s Included in the Warhammer III Upgrade Pack?

For those who want to unlock even more content, the Warhammer III Upgrade Pack provides:

  • 10 Legendary Lords with their units and unique features

  • The Realm of Chaos narrative campaign

  • Multiplayer campaigns including Realm of Chaos, Something Rotten in Kislev, and Darkness & Disharmony

  • The Mirrors of Madness game mode

Immortal Empires merges all regions from the entire trilogy, creating the largest Total War sandbox map ever built. According to game.news, this update represents the peak of a decade of development for the Total War: Warhammer franchise.
