Ford Ranger Black Edition Returns $1000 Cheaper

0

The Ford Ranger Black Edition is returning to Australian showrooms for the 2026 model year (MY26), and this time it’s even more affordable. According to car.news, the special edition – which previously sold out in a run of 1500 units – will now be offered from $57,000 drive-away for private buyers, or $55,000 for ABN holders. That makes it $1000 cheaper than its predecessor and the only Ranger in the MY26 lineup to avoid Ford’s recent $250 price rise.

Order books are already open, with the first deliveries due in October. Ford has described the latest Black Edition as another “limited run” variant, though it hasn’t revealed production numbers. Still, according to car.news, the move strengthens Ford’s ability to defend the Ranger’s status as Australia’s top-selling vehicle, ahead of rivals like the Toyota HiLux and Toyota RAV4.

Based on the Ranger XL dual-cab 4×4 Bi-Turbo, the Black Edition brings a darker, more aggressive look with Asphalt Black mesh grille and Bolder Grey inserts, 17-inch Asphalt Black alloys on Bridgestone Dueler A/T tyres, black side steps, and a long-legged sports bar. A drop-in bedliner and cargo management system also come standard. Inside, it gains carpet flooring and a driver’s mat, while power continues to come from the 154kW/500Nm 2.0-litre twin-turbo diesel and 10-speed auto, with a 994kg payload and 3500kg towing capacity.

Options include a $1950 towing pack and $750 Prestige Paint in Meteor Grey, Aluminium, or Black. Beyond this edition, Ford will also launch the first Ranger Super Duty, boasting a 4500kg tow rating to rival the LandCruiser 70 Series.
