NetEase has revealed the upcoming changes for Marvel Rivals Season 3, with the major highlight being the introduction of Phoenix (Jean Grey) as a new ranged duelist. Wielding the power of the Phoenix Force, Jean Grey excels at targeting grouped enemies. Marvel Rivals Season 3 will officially launch on July 11, 2025.
In addition to the new hero, four new team-up abilities will be introduced, while two previous ones will be removed. These updates and other details were shared in the developer vlog released on July 1, 2025. Key elements of the update were also reported on game.news.
Special Costume Trials for Students

Season 3 brings a unique opportunity for college students. By registering with an educational email address and verifying student status, players will gain access to 10 free costume trials. These trials allow users to sample hero outfits for a limited time. Once verified, seasonal perks will be activated instantly.
Discord Integration and Technical Recommendations
The new season also includes Discord integration through the Discord SDK. This feature enables players to stay connected with their Marvel Rivals friends even when offline. According to game.news, NetEase is among the first studios to implement this feature into active gameplay.
Creative Director Guangguang addressed crash issues some PC users have experienced and recommended updating Nvidia graphics drivers to help mitigate these problems.
What’s Coming Next
Season 3.5 will introduce a new competitive mode, along with the addition of Blade, a hero who was first teased during Season 2.
The full Marvel Rivals Season 3 patch notes will be published on Game.News once they become available. For now, only the Developer Vision Vlog has been released, and no detailed balance changes have been officially disclosed.
