Australia’s Forrest Gump Takes on The Thames in Epic Journey to Run Around the World

Your average bloke doing extraordinary things, Tim Franklin has set off on a groundbreaking mission to become only the eighth person in history to run around the globe. Under the banner of Tim Runs the World, Tim aims to not only achieve this remarkable feat but also become the fastest Australian to do so. His daring endeavor seeks to raise awareness for the significance of movement and its impact on overall health and wellness.

The importance of movement and its impact on physical and mental well-being cannot be overstated. Tim’s mission serves as a catalyst to encourage individuals of all ages, from 20 to 60 and beyond, to make movement a vital part of their lives. By embarking on this journey, Tim hopes to motivate corporate white-collar professionals to support his cause and join the movement towards a healthier future.

With an average of 50-65 kilometers per day, Tim plans to cover a staggering distance of 26,232 kilometers over the course of 400-500 days. Not just about breaking records, but making a difference, Tim is proudly supporting various charity partners throughout his global run, highlighting the importance of giving back to the community and fostering a sense of solidarity. 

“I started this journey as an average bloke with a big dream,” said Tim Franklin. “I want to show people that no matter where you start, you can achieve extraordinary things through determination and perseverance. Running around the world is my way of spreading the message that movement is not only beneficial for our physical health but also for our mental well-being.”

About to touch down in the UK, Tim’s Uk route will take him through the following locations:

  • 24 August – Portishead to Bristol
  • 25 August – Bristol to Kemble 
  •  26 August – Kemble to Oxford 
  • 27 August – Oxford to Reading 
  • 28 August – Reading to Slough 
  • 29 August – Slough to London 
  • 30 August – Lap of London!! 
  • 31 August – London to Gillingham 
  • 1 September – Gillingham to Canterbury 
  • 2 September – Canterbury to Ramsgate
