A Grammy-Worthy Album Jeremiah Jacksun’s Thinking Out Loud

Georgia-based rapper Jeremiah Jacksun is a rising star in hip-hop. Being a son of musical parents, it is no surprise that Jeremiah gravitated towards singing and songwriting. His latest album, Thinking Out Loud, has impacted thousands, if not more. The album comprises six songs; Thinking Out Loud, Momma, Mistake, Settle Down, Fast Food, and Got Back Up.

With a deep voice and relatable lyrics, Jeremiah Jacksun’s Thinking Out Loud continues to inspire people. Like his mental health podcast, his album focuses on his personal struggles and life journey that many of us can relate to. If the artist wants to create something that can stir people’s hearts, he has to become vulnerable. That is exactly what Jeremiah did.

His song Mistake is based on the fact that he did not ask for help when he needed it. Jeremiah was bullied at school and was abused by his father at home. He could not forgive himself for allowing people to crush his spirit for the longest time. But part of healing is forgiving yourself for the bad things you did to yourself in the past. It is important to be kind to others and seek their forgiveness when we wrong them in any way, but many of us forget to be kind to ourselves and struggle to forgive our own mistakes. Real growth happens when we stop being disappointed in ourselves for not knowing what we know now. The song Mistake is a way for him to acknowledge his trauma and get help in the present.

We listen to hundreds of songs daily about breakups and relationships, but rarely ever do we come across a song about a mother. The song Momma is Jeremiah’s tribute to his mom. He has expressed his love and appreciation for her and how he celebrates her every day like it is mother’s day. As a son, he hopes that he is making his momma proud. More artists need to inculcate this sentiment in their songs, so people are reminded to celebrate and appreciate their mothers every day.

Thinking Out Loud sheds light on Jeremiah’s financial struggles, and Settle Down’s lyrics express his drive to share his story before anyone else does. Got Back Up is Jeremiah Jacksun’s tribute to himself for being resilient and making the best out of his difficult circumstances. The lyrics express his profound understanding of life. He knows money cannot buy happiness. Sports cars, awards, numbers, none of that can make you happy until you are satisfied with who you are. Real validation comes from within, and no happiness can last long without peace of mind.

Another remarkable thing about this album is that there are no profanities in the lyrics, which is rare in today’s hip-hop. Jeremiah Jacksun chose not to follow the trends blindly and stayed true to himself. In this album, he has talked about important subjects of life without compromising his integrity. All of this makes Thinking Out Loud worthy of a Grammy. While popularity, ratings, and sales are important, they should not define artists’ work. Success is subjective, and by telling his life story, Jeremiah Jacksun has inspired people to never give up on themselves and has also given them the courage to share their life story because no one can tell it better than you.
