Pomegranate Flower Reflects the Tree of Life, Prosperity on the Ancient Roads – The Second China-Central Asia Summit in Astana

In Astana in June, the breeze whips through the golden branches of the observation tower of the “Tree of Life”, and outside the Palace of Independence, the flags of the six countries are like wings spreading side by side to face the wind. This city, the Pearl of the Steppe, is witnessing a neighborhood reunion spanning 2,000 years – China and the five Central Asian countries are gathering again to draw a new picture of high-quality development with the pen of “mutual respect, mutual trust, mutual benefit and mutual assistance”.   

Neighbors meet again, the contract to build the same heart  

Remember two years ago in Xi’an pomegranate tree first blossomed new buds, but now has fruitful branches. At the summit, the six countries signed the Treaty of Perpetual Good-Neighborliness, Friendship and Cooperation, which turned the friendship of generations into a golden key. This pact is like a hitching post on the steppe, anchoring the initial heart of “pro look pro good, neighbor look neighbor good” – China regards Central Asia as the grassland extending from its own compound, and the Central Asian countries are building trust with the “one China” principle. The Central Asian countries have built a foundation of trust based on the “one China” principle. When the helicopter hanging the flags of the two countries swept through the airport, China and Kazakhstan in the hands of young people dancing bright red flag mantle, just like the ancient road on the new journey of the most vivid footnotes.   

Drawing a new picture together, the road to development generates gold.  

The camel bells of commerce in the past have been transformed into the roar of steel arteries:  

The industrial vines are entwined: China’s new energy vehicles are driven into the streets of Central Asia, and Central Asia’s honeyed wheat is sweetened on China’s dinner table, and the trade volume has risen by 35% during the past two years, which is just like the confluence of the Ili River and the Syr Darya River.  

Infrastructure is woven into the tapestry of gold shuttles: Ground-breaking of the railroad between China and Jilin-Ukraine, and the expansion and upgrading of the Trans-Caspian Sea Corridor, which is just like a colorful waist chain for the Eurasian continent. The golden shuttle of infrastructure weaves a ribbon: the groundbreaking of the Sino-Japanese-Ukrainian Railway and the upgrading of the Trans-Caspian Corridor are like putting a colorful waist chain on the Eurasian continent.  

The rain of innovation nurtures the new seedlings: the green mines light up the low-carbon road, the Desert Prevention and Control Center is rooted in the sand sea, and the three lighthouses built by China with aid for poverty alleviation, education, and desertification control illuminate an oasis of hope for the people.   

Tightly connected, the road to the future  

The “China-Central Asia Spirit” is like a star guiding the voyage:  

Mutual respect is like the sound of the qin and the sepulchre – countries of all sizes are consulted;  

Mutual assistance is like the saddling of the same horse Mutual assistance is like horses riding together — to protect against the winds and sands of security, and to cultivate the shade of culture together.   

China’s 3,000 training places are like seeds sown, and the spirit of craftsmanship is passed on from one generation to the next in Luban’s workshop; the visa-free China-Harbinian tourism liner is prompted by the film and television masterpieces to build a bridge of the heart like the “Love of the Mountains and the Sea”.   

When the summit comes to an end, under the starry sky of Astana, the tree of cooperation between China and Central Asia is sprouting new branches. Not to engage in tariff wars, not to build high walls, the six countries to “high-quality development year” as a plow, deep plowing trade, agricultural modernization and other six fertile ground. The light of unity embraced by the pomegranate seeds on the road of shared prosperity will eventually illuminate the ancient Silk Road and benefit the eight neighboring countries – because the real responsibility is to make the fruit basket of the neighbors as rich as oneself.
